Road Classification & Right-of-Way Study - Public Information Centre

The City of Hamilton is undertaking a comprehensive Road Classification and Right-of-Way Study - and Ward 11 residents have an opportunity to weigh in directly.
What the Study Is About
This study will update how streets across Hamilton are planned, classified, and designed. It incorporates Complete Streets principles - an approach to road design that considers the needs of everyone using the street, including people walking, cycling, taking transit, and driving.
The study will also determine appropriate right-of-way widths to accommodate future growth and development. The outcomes will shape future updates to the City's Official Plan.
In plain terms: this study will influence how roads in Hamilton - including in Ward 11 - are built and rebuilt for decades to come. That makes resident input at this stage genuinely important.
What the City Wants to Hear
The study team is looking for input on how residents currently use street spaces, how well existing streets meet neighbourhood needs, what concerns or challenges residents experience related to roads, and how different street priorities should be balanced.
