Each month, we review the latest community safety and service statistics to better understand what's happening across Ward 11. Here’s a quick look at the numbers for March 2025, alongside five-year averages for context. These updates help us stay transparent and work together on informed improvements.

🚨 Crime Stats

March saw a moderate level of reported incidents:

  • Total property crimes: 30

    • Top issues: Auto theft (6), theft from auto (3), break and enter (3)

  • Total violent crimes: 7

    • Includes: 1 assault, 1 robbery, and 1 theft over

  • 12-month property crime trend: Fluctuating but consistently near the 5-year monthly average of 33.5

  • 12-month violent crime trend: Slightly below the 5-year monthly average of 10.0

🟩 Takeaway: While crime numbers remain relatively in line with historical averages, auto-related thefts continue to be a concern. Lock your vehicles, don't leave keyfobs near your windows/doors, and don’t leave valuables in sight.

🚗 Traffic Collisions

  • 36 total collisions reported in March (33 non-injury, 3 injury)

  • Slight increase over the 5-year monthly average of 28.6

  • Collision types remained consistent with past trends

  • Motor Vehicle Collisions (MVCs) were the top event category for the month

🟩 Takeaway: Collision numbers are stable, but awareness on rural roads and intersections remains key—especially as spring roadwork picks up.

👮 Calls for Service (CFS)

  • 143 total calls for March 2025, below the 5-year average of 176.2

  • Top call categories:

    1. Motor Vehicle Collisions (15)

    2. Suspicious Activity (14)

    3. Auto Theft (10)

🟩 Takeaway: A slight dip in calls suggests a quieter month overall, but residents are encouraged to continue reporting suspicious behaviour to keep our community safe and responsive.
