I want to update residents on the recent Public Information Centre (PIC 1) for the intersection at White Church Road, Trinity Church Road, and Binbrook Road. Many of you have expressed concerns about safety, visibility, and traffic operations at this location, and I share those concerns. Improving this intersection is a priority.
Where We Are in the Process
PIC 1 was the first stage of a Schedule C Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA). This session was designed to share background information, present identified problems and opportunities, outline possible design concepts, and gather community feedback.
No preferred design has been selected. This stage is about understanding the issues, hearing from residents, and identifying potential solutions for further study.
What Happens Next
The project now moves into a detailed evaluation phase. City staff and the project team will:
Review engineering, safety, and traffic data
Assess environmental and property impacts
Refine alternative design options
Incorporate feedback from PIC 1
A second Public Information Centre (PIC 2) will be held to present the refined alternatives and discuss potential preferred options.
My Role and Ongoing Advocacy
Since PIC 1, I have scheduled follow-up meetings with senior City staff and the project team. My focus is straightforward: this intersection must be made safer, and the solution must address the real concerns of our community.
I will continue advocating for solutions that improve:
Sightlines and visibility
Speed management and road geometry
Traffic flow and turning movements
Safety for all road users, including drivers, cyclists, school buses, farm equipment, and emergency vehicles
How You Can Stay Involved
I encourage residents to stay engaged throughout this study. There will be additional opportunities for public input at each stage of the EA process. I will share updates through my newsletter, social media, and the Ward 11 website.

Thank you to everyone who participated in PIC 1. I will continue working closely with City staff and the community as this project moves forward. Your input helps ensure the final design reflects the safety priorities and needs of Ward 11.
