The Glanbrook Heritage Society has long been the heart and voice of our community’s history — dedicated to preserving, sharing, and celebrating the stories that define Glanbrook. Through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Society faced significant hardships, including disruptions to their operations. Yet, through the unwavering commitment of their members and volunteers, the Glanbrook Heritage Society weathered the storm and emerged with a renewed sense of purpose.

Today, the Glanbrook Heritage Society is entering an exciting new chapter. At the request and initiative of Councillor Mark Tadeson, a dedicated meeting was organized between his office, Hamilton Public Library CEO Paul Takala, representatives from the City of Hamilton, and members of the Glanbrook Heritage Society. The purpose: to explore a future permanent home for the archives of the Society and investigate the possibility of a future home within the upcoming Glanbrook Recreation Centre. This collaborative discussion marked a major step toward finding sustainable, long-term solutions to protect and maintain the Society’s considerable historical archives. If successful, this partnership would not only provide a modern, accessible space for preserving Glanbrook’s rich history, but also create exciting new opportunities for community programs, archival displays, and educational initiatives that will bring our local heritage to life for generations to come.

Maintaining a dedicated space for the Society has been a long-standing goal, and Councillor Mark Tadeson has been a strong advocate for ensuring that Glanbrook’s proud heritage remains a vital part of our community’s future.

As the Society looks ahead with optimism, they are also calling on the community for support.
