Hamilton's newest barrier-free outdoor facility represents a milestone in accessible community recreation
Ward 11 Councillor Mark Tadeson is proud to support Camp Marydale, a groundbreaking recreational facility that exemplifies Hamilton's commitment to inclusive community spaces. Located at the beautiful Marydale Park on 5999 Chippewa Road East in Mount Hope, this innovative project by the Catholic Youth Organization (C.Y.O.) is transforming outdoor recreation for all Hamiltonians.
A Vision of Universal Accessibility
"Every child deserves to play, regardless of their abilities," says Councillor Tadeson. "Camp Marydale represents exactly the kind of forward-thinking infrastructure our community needs - a place where the 91,000 Hamiltonians living with health conditions or disabilities can enjoy the outdoors with complete independence and dignity."
Marydale Park spans 35 acres of purpose-built, universally accessible outdoor recreation space, situated just 20 minutes from Hamilton's downtown core. The facility borders the pristine Binbrook Conservation area and sits on the shores of Lake Niapenco, a 533-acre reservoir teeming with wildlife and fish.
World-Class Facilities for All Ages and Abilities
The park's thoughtful design ensures that visitors using wheelchairs, scooters, or walkers can fully participate in all activities. Key features include:

Beach volleyball court accessible to all users
Archery range with adaptive equipment options

The Great Room: A 118-person capacity space with full kitchen access and accessible washrooms
The Pavilion: An impressive covered area accommodating up to 533 people, complete with picnic facilities and full AV capabilities
