Significant improvements are on the way for Ward 11’s roadways and transportation network as part of the City of Hamilton’s 2025 infrastructure plans.

These upgrades are designed to enhance road safety, improve accessibility, and support the growing needs of the Glanbrook community.

Fighting for Ward 11: Councillor Tadeson’s Advocacy

Councillor Mark Tadeson has fought hard to secure these critical roadway and transportation upgrades for Ward 11. Over the past year, he has worked with City staff and pushed behind the scenes to ensure Ward 11 received the investments it deserves.

Mark has been clear: while growth is necessary, it must benefit our community — not burden it. His leadership ensures that infrastructure projects are not only prioritized but are carefully monitored to minimize disruptions and address concerns quickly. Thanks to Councillor Tadeson's advocacy, these major upgrades are now becoming a reality.

2025 Infrastructure Projects / Transportation Upgrades

In 2025, residents will see a number of important roadway improvements, including:

  • New traffic signals at key intersections:

    • Upper James Street at White Church Road East

    • Regional Road 20 at Westbrook Road

    • Regional Road 56 at Kirk Road

    • Twenty Road East at Nebo Road

    • Binbrook Road at Fletcher Road (temporary signal, future traffic circle)

  • New pedestrian crossovers (PXOs) at:

    • Pumpkin Pass and Kinsman Drive

    • Garth Street at Whiterock Avenue

  • New sidewalks and AODA corner upgrades at:

    • Cook Street and Tinlin Drive

    • Provident Way and Thames Way

These upgrades are focused on making it easier — and safer — for residents to move around Ward 11, whether they are driving, walking, or using mobility devices.

2025 Binbrook Transportation Master Plan: Speed Cushions

To further enhance neighbourhood safety, speed cushions will be installed in key residential areas, including:

  • Maggie Johnson Drive between Regional Road 56 and Tanglewood Drive

  • Tanglewood Drive between Maggie Johnson Drive and DeGrows Crescent

  • Tanglewood Drive near Wills Crescent

  • Bradley Avenue between Windwood Drive and Magnificent Way

  • Kaufman Drive south of Fowler Drive

  • Great Oak Trail near Binbrook Road and Topaz Street

  • Viking Drive between Newlove Street and Donald Bell Drive

These targeted installations aim to calm traffic and protect families, schoolchildren, and pedestrians across our growing community.

A Strong Advocate for Ward 11

Councillor Mark Tadeson has been a strong voice at City Hall, advocating for infrastructure improvements while working to minimize construction disruptions for residents. His ongoing oversight ensures that all projects are monitored closely and that any issues are addressed quickly.

With Hamilton’s continued growth — especially in Glanbrook — Councillor Tadeson remains committed to making sure that development benefits the entire community, improving safety, accessibility, and quality of life for all who call Ward 11 home.

Road Closures Update in Ward 11

Several key projects are currently underway across Ward 11 as part of the City's long-term investment in stronger, safer infrastructure. Current reopening projections include:

  • Highway 56 Bridge – Lane closures continue, with a projected reopening by June/July 2025.

  • Binbrook Road (Fletcher Road to Royal Winter Drive) – Full reopening expected by August 2025.

  • Dickenson Road – Construction continues with a projected reopening in November 2026.

  • Golf Club Road – Work remains ongoing; a reopening date is still to be confirmed.

Councillor Tadeson continues to monitor these projects closely to ensure they stay on track and minimize impacts on residents. Regular updates will be shared as timelines are finalized. If you have concerns, please email the Councillor for details at ward11@hamilton.ca.
