If you received an unsigned letter about the future of lands along Twenty Road West, you're not alone - and you deserve straight answers. Councillor Tadeson has written directly to affected residents to clarify where the process stands, what remains unresolved, and what his office is doing to stay informed.

Dear Neighbours,
My office has been made aware of an unsigned, unattributed letter that has been delivered to residents of the adult living communities north of Twenty Road West. The letter contained claims about the future of these lands that we believe warrant some important context, and we understand this may have caused concern and confusion among residents.
The lands along Twenty Road West are the subject of an urban boundary expansion application by way of official plan amendments. These proposed amendments are subject to an active Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) appeal which starts May 11, 2026, and I want to make sure residents have a clear picture of where things stand - and where it doesn't yet.
Information pertaining to the urban boundary expansion application which was appealed to the OLT can be found at:
I want to be straightforward with residents: this process is not simple, and it is not finished. There are real and legitimate questions still being worked through - including most importantly the implications of airport noise contours regulated by NAV CANADA. The contours will meaningfully shape what is ultimately approvable on these lands, and I am in the process of getting a fuller picture from City staff.
What I can tell you is this: like many of you, I believe that if development does proceed here, residential uses along Twenty Road West would bring lasting benefits to the community - medical offices, grocery stores, schools, parks, trails, and the kind of street improvements that make an area genuinely walkable and livable for families and seniors. Those are outcomes worth advocating for.
But I also believe residents deserve a councillor who is honest about what he doesn't yet fully know, rather than one who gets ahead of a process that is both complex and formally regulated.
Given this matter is before the OLT and a matter of litigation, I will share what information is permitted as I learn it. In the meantime, my office is always available if you have questions or concerns you'd like to raise.
Sincerely,

Mark Tadeson, Councillor, Ward 11
