Mar 4/13 – The Recreation Division staff is preparing an in-house feasibility study for the Mount Hope area to examine the recreation opportunities in your community. The goal of this project is to investigate the various options for recreation in Mount Hope and develop a strategy to meet the recreational needs of residents of all ages now and in the future.
The first phase of consultation for this project will be a survey. The Recreation Division is requesting input on how you and your family participate in recreation services within and outside of your community. Please fill out the survey and provide your input! Survey Link: http://surveys.hamilton.ca/MountHope . The survey was circulated via e-blast to Mount Hope area residents on March 4, 2013 and input will be collected until March 22, 2013. Your input will provide staff with valuable insight into how you are currently participating in recreation and will help inform future decisions related to recreation service delivery in your community.
The next phase of the consultation will be to hold a public meeting to gather your input on the recreational activities you, the residents, would like to see in Mount Hope. The public meeting is tentatively scheduled for late spring. Notice of this meeting will circulated to area residents and any individuals that have requested to be notified of the study.
Following the collection survey results and comments received at the public meeting, Recreation staff will analyze the information and determine if and how the community requests can be accommodated. A final recommendation will be determined and presented through a report to the Ward Councillor’s office and posted on the project website in the fall.
