Reading Buddies is a literacy program for children to practice their reading skills. The program runs from Monday, July 6th through Saturday, August 29 (except August 3).
Who can join? – Children must have completed grade 1 and can be up to 12 years of age.
How does program work? Children are paired with a volunteer Reading Buddy for individual attention with help reading. (It is not designed to teach children how to read.) As children progress through the program, they receive rewards to mark their success.
Reading Buddies helps children learn that reading is a fun and rewarding experience. Contact your local library branch to register. You will be contacted by phone with the dates and times your child will meet with his/her buddy.
