Access to family doctors continues to be a challenge for many residents in Ward 11, particularly in Binbrook, Mount Hope, and other fast-growing areas where healthcare services are under pressure.

The Hamilton Health Team is working to improve access to primary care by coordinating connections between residents who do not have a family doctor and providers who are accepting new patients across Hamilton, Haldimand, and Niagara North West.

How Ward 11 Residents Can Use the Service

Step 1: Register with Health Care Connect Residents without a family doctor must first register with Health Care Connect, the Ontario government’s centralized system.

Step 2: Local Coordination Once registered, the Hamilton Health Team supports the matching process by working with local primary care providers to identify available spots.

Step 3: Connection to Care When an opportunity becomes available, residents may be contacted and connected with a primary care provider.

This approach is particularly important for Ward 11, where residents may otherwise face longer travel times or limited local options for primary care.

Why This Matters for Ward 11

Primary care is essential for preventative care, managing chronic conditions, and navigating the broader healthcare system. With continued growth in Ward 11, ensuring residents have a clear path to primary care remains a priority.

While demand continues to exceed supply, the Hamilton Health Team provides a coordinated, transparent process that helps residents access care as opportunities arise.
