Shaft 7 Road Closure on Dickenson Road East – Sewer and Watermain Work

The City of Hamilton is continuing infrastructure work related to the Dickenson Road East Sanitary Sewer and Watermain Project (Contract C15-11-22).

As part of this work, Dickenson Road East will be temporarily closed between 6299 Dickenson Road East and 6191 Dickenson Road East to allow crews to safely continue construction activities.

The work is being completed by Technicore Underground Limited on behalf of the City of Hamilton and includes the installation of new sanitary sewers, watermains, water valves, and roadway reconstruction.

Closure Details

The road closure is scheduled to begin Monday, March 16, 2026.

Crews will first remove drilling equipment currently located on the roadway before continuing with the next phase of construction.

The closure is expected to remain in place for up to three weeks, with the road anticipated to reopen around April 6, 2026, weather permitting.

Property Access

During the closure, access to properties along Dickenson Road East between Miles Road and Nebo Road will be adjusted:

6299 – 6513 Dickenson Road East will be accessible from Miles Road only•

6191 – 6045 Dickenson Road East will be accessible from Nebo Road only

Traffic and School Transportation

Residents and road users should expect delays and increased traffic on nearby roads during this time.

School bus routes may also be affected. School boards will coordinate any required route or stop adjustments, and families should check directly with their child’s school or transportation provider for updated information.
