Thank you to all those who attended last night’s meeting (April 10) at the Stoney Creek Municipal Centre to meet the new Chief of Police Eric Girt
As stated last night, council does not have jurisdiction on police operations. Having said that, when I called the Chief the morning of March 22nd (morning after the car break ins in Winona) the Chief told me “we are ahead of you on this file”. The police stated very firmly last night that many departments of the police are in your neighbourhoods. They are unwilling to give the residents a detailed explanation for obvious reasons.
Good questions were asked and lots of information was given. I have attached last night’s presentation for those who could not make it.
