The Winona Peach Festival is next Weekend starting Friday Aug 24 evening and going through until Sunday Aug 26. I will have a booth in the Commercial Section of the Festival on Sat Aug 25 during the day and I look forward to meeting with you if you are in the area. This Festival is being held in Winona at Winona Park which is also part of the Communities of Ward 11. Winona Park is located on Barton Street between Fifty and Winona Rd’s. Parking for the Festival is at either Eastgate Square or the E.D. Smith property on Barton Street near Lewis Rd. Shuttle busses will transport you from the parking lots to the Festival and admission into the festival is free. If you would like more details about parking or what’s happening at the festival, check the Peach Festival Web Site at www.winonapeach.com

As of Monday, August 13th we’ve had 1166 transit surveys completed in the Village of Binbrook. The survey is only being done in the urban area of the Village of Binbrook as it is the area of highest demand at this time. What ever the results of the transit survey are, there will be no impact on the rural residents outside the Village of Binbrook.

It’s still not too late to complete the survey. Given that the surveyors were out over the summer months, the survey will remain open until Sept 28th so that everyone will have an opportunity to take part. Please remember though, there is only one survey per household allowed. If you have or a member of your household has not completed the survey, please give us a call at 905-546-4513.

The survey only takes a few minutes and it also asks your thoughts on recreation programs staff are able to bring to Binbrook area. Anyone in Glanbrook can take the recreation portion of the survey, so give us a call it will only take a minute. We’d like to make sure that the recreations programs that come to the area are what you will support.

The City is meeting this week to talk about the Flood Relief Compassion Fund and also the Reverse Back Flow Valve Program. The final decision will be made at Council on Thursday Aug 16th and then I’ll post all the details on my web page at www.brendajohnson.ca on Friday Aug 17th. The details will include how to apply and the amounts that you can expect.

I will again this year, be having an information booth at the Binbrook Fall Fair and I look forward to seeing you there. The Binbrook Fall Fair is Sept 14th through till the 16th.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me at 905-546-4513 or email Brenda.Johnson@hamilton.ca
