Ward 11 warmly welcomes Councillor Rob Cooper (Ward 8). Rob steps into his new role with three clear priorities that echo the concerns most frequently voiced by Hamilton residents: safer neighbourhoods, reliable roads, and improved transit.
On the recent Placeline Hamilton podcast, host Scott Radley highlighted Councillor Mark Tadeson's long-standing push for an outcomes-based budgeting model - setting concrete departmental goals first, then building the budget to achieve them, and demanding transparent reporting on how tax dollars translate into real results for residents.
Rob affirmed his full agreement with this approach, explaining how he intends to apply it in his own work on Council. He stressed that clear targets, accountable planning, and open reporting are essential for delivering the services Hamiltoners need most. By embracing this transparent, results-focused budgeting philosophy, Councillor Cooper aims to ensure every dollar spent is tied directly to measurable improvements for the community.
Hamilton thrives when its elected officials set clear objectives, track progress, and hold themselves accountable. That is a foundation we share.
Welcome, Councillor Cooper. We're ready for the work ahead.
