Looking for something your kids can do this summer that is not only fun but FREE?
The Recreation Division offers free drop-in programs in certain parks through the summer. Our Supie staff organize games, crafts, sports, special events and theme days for children in the neighbourhood. The Supie is trained in all types of activities from sports t crafts and is on site to program for kids ages 6 – 12. Parents are always welcome to come and participate in activities with their children. Exciting activities are different every day, so visit often and don’t miss out!
Supie staff are in the parks to implement and lead programs and are not there to replace parent/guardian supervision. Programming is not available during the lunch hour as staff are not on site at this time.
The Supie program hours vary by location. Please refer to the locations listed below and the days of programming. The program runs from June 30th to August 15th, 2014.
If the weather is nnot appropriate for outdoor activities (eg. rain, thunder, lightning, heat or smog warnings), Supie activities will be modified to ensure participant safety. Supie locations may be closed in the event of extreme weather, where it is unsafe for children to participate.
In the case of Fairgrounds Water Tower Park and Winona Park which both have a splash pad, the supie will take advantage of these water features during the hot summer months.
Ward 11 has Supie programs at the following parks and the days of programming is noted next to the Park. The hours of programming are 9am to 4pm. Note: programming is suspended on all parks between 12noon to 1pm daily for lunch, as well as the following Fridays between 9am-12noon: July 11, 18, 15 and Aug 1 and 8, 2014. Also Note: Parks are closed on July 1 and Aug 4 holidays.
