April 2026 | Ward 11 - Binbrook, Mount Hope, Glanbrook
For the first time in Ward 11's history, local organizations and community groups have access to dedicated grant funding - and the response made clear just how much it was needed.
The Ward 11 Community Grants pilot program was established to support the non-profit organizations, clubs, and community groups doing meaningful work for residents of Binbrook, Mount Hope, and Glanbrook. Funded through a cellular tower license agreement that generates non-property tax revenue for the Ward, the program provides direct, structured support for one-time projects and initiatives - not sponsorships, not discretionary handouts, but documented and accountable community investment.
Twenty applications were received by the March 31, 2026 deadline. Eighteen were deemed eligible following review. The total funding envelope for the 2026 pilot is $20,000.

About the Program
The Ward 11 Community Grants program is a pre-defined, non-discretionary funding program with published eligibility criteria and a structured application and evaluation process. It is not a sponsorship program. Funding is limited to one-time project or initiative support, to a maximum of $2,000 per organization, and excludes ongoing operating costs, salaries, retroactive expenses, and sponsorship-style funding.
All successful applicants are required to report on the use of funds by year-end. That reporting will be documented and published on this website.
This is a pilot program. How it performs in 2026 will inform whether and how it continues.
A Note from Councillor Tadeson
"Ward 11 has no shortage of groups doing good work with very little. This program is a way to put some structured support behind that - not as a favour, but as a documented, accountable process that residents can see and understand. I'm pleased with the response we got in the first year, and I'm looking forward to seeing what these organizations do with it."
The motion approving the 2026 Ward 11 Community Grants was moved by Councillor Mark Tadeson at the Audit, Finance and Administration Committee on April 16, 2026.
Questions about the program can be directed to the Ward 11 office.
