Walking Toward a Safer Glanbrook 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️

Big News for Pedestrians in Glanbrook! Councillor Tadeson has been working hard behind the scenes to champion safer streets with some exciting new initiatives:

Glancaster Road is Getting a Walkable Upgrade

Great news for the Grassyplain/Kopperfield neighbourhood! Councillor Tadeson has been working hard to increase safety for pedestrians on Glancaster Road. He is currently working with City staff to initiate a motion to install a walkable paved shoulder on the east side of Glancaster Road from Grassyplain Drive to Garner Road. This will provide a much-needed safe space for pedestrians, even before larger roadway improvements occur in a few years time (visit the Glancaster Road Improvements page for longer-term improvements.) Stay tuned for the results of the motion and potential time frames for the paving to occur!

Dickenson Road Widening Project

Through his ongoing efforts, Councillor Tadeson has arranged for Dickenson to be widened between Upper James to west of Miles Road, with the width increased to 8.5 m. This widening will allow for a 1 m walkable area on both sides of Dickenson Road. You should see the progress here soon!

Safety First!

To ensure pedestrian safety, Councillor Tadeson has requested:

  • Solid yellow line: This "no passing" zone will discourage speeding and risky driving maneuvers.

  • Two white lines: These will clearly delineate the walkable shoulders from the roadway.

These changes demonstrate Councillor Tadeson's commitment to making our streets safer and more accessible for everyone. Stay tuned for further updates on these projects!
