The City of Hamilton is advising residents that the planned general maintenance and asphalt repairs on the Lincoln M. Alexander Parkway, originally scheduled for May 23–26, 2025, have been postponed to the weekend of May 30 – June 2, 2025.
This change is being made in response to forecasted inclement weather and to help alleviate compounded traffic disruptions due to a simultaneous Ministry of Transportation (MTO) project involving lane closures on the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) Niagara-bound at the Burlington Skyway.
The rescheduled work will require full closures in both directions of the LINC:
Eastbound Closure: Friday, May 30 at 8:00 a.m. to Monday, June 2 at 5:00 a.m.(Golf Links Road to Red Hill Valley Parkway, including RHVP off-ramp from the eastbound LINC)
Westbound Closure: Friday, May 30 at 10:00 a.m. to Monday, June 2 at 5:00 a.m.(Red Hill Valley Parkway to Highway 403)
Planned maintenance activities include:
Asphalt repairs and mill-and-pave resurfacing
Catch basin cleaning and bridge maintenance
Graffiti removal, ditching, and vegetation control
Pavement marking and signage repairs
🚧 Detour routes will be clearly marked, with suggested alternatives via Mohawk Road and Stone Church Road.
We appreciate residents’ patience and understanding as this essential work is carried out to maintain the safety and reliability of one of Hamilton’s major arterial roadways.
