Taste the Winning Soup at Case United Church Soup Fest

Smaller version of the soup is as follows, approximately lol   HEARTY TURKEY BARLEY SOUP

  1. 2-3 cups of turkey pc’s left over from Christmas

  2. 2 cups of water

  3. 4 cups of chicken/turkey broth or equal of water with bouillon cubes

  4. 28 oz tin of diced tomatos

  5. 10 oz tin of tomato soup (no extra water needed)

  6. 3 celery stalks diced

  7. 1 med/lge onion diced

  8. 3 carrots sliced

  9. ½ bag of spinach

  10. 8 T barley

  11. ½ t thyme

  12. 1 bay leaf

  13. Clove or so of garlic

  14. Extra chicken bouillon cubes if needed for flavour

Toss all of above in a pot and simmer until veggies are tendor and the barley is cooked.  The barley when cooked will thicken and give a nice consistency to the soup.
