3 Remembrance Day Services; the Sunday before Remembrance Day and 2 on Remembrance Day.
This Sunday, November 8th at 2:00 pm is the Glanbrook Remembrance Day Service. This is a tradition carried forward from the former Township of Glanbrook. Many local residents wanted to attend a Remembrance Day Service but couldn’t because they were working or in school. For this reason, Glanbrook has always held their service on the Sunday before Remembrance Day and they chose 2pm so that it didn’t interfere with Church Services.
The Glanbrook Cenotaph is located at 4280 Binbrook Road, next to the Municipal Building and the Glanbrook Arena. The Service is held outdoors, weather permitting and inside if not. Local groups and organizations participate in laying wreaths and the Air Cadets are in full uniform and parade. The event is always extremely well attended and we hope that you are able to attend.
On Remembrance Day, November 11th, starting at 10:30am, the Warplane Heritage Museum in Mount Hope, hosts a large televised Remembrance Day Service for all to attend. Please note if you wish to attend this Service, arrive early as seats go quickly
Also on Remembrance Day, November 11th, starting at 10:45 is the Stoney Creek Service at it will be held at the Cenotaph at Hwy #8 and King Street in Stoney Creek. This is an outdoor service.
