UPDATE: BEAR Unit Continues To Investigate Arsons For Immediate release: April 7, 2015 Hamilton, ON
Investigators from the Hamilton Police Service and the Niagara Regional Police Service are investigating 4 more fires associated to the following geographical areas.
1. Tapleytown Rd north of Mud 05/04/2015 at 09:45PM 2. South Chippewa Rd near Caister Centre road 05/04/2015 at 11:05PM 3. South Chippewa Rd near Caisterville road 05/04/2015 at 11:16PM 4. Trimble Rd near Hall Rd 06/04/2015 at 12:00AM
In 2013 a witness observed a vehicle similar to an older white Ford Escape with black bumpers in the area of Westbrook road at 16th road.
On 15 Mar 2015 at approx. 0030hrs a witness sees a small black pickup truck similar to a Ford or GMC in this same area. Investigators are seeking to speak to persons in the area of the fires with similar vehicles.
These recent fires under investigation are targeting vacant structures/ vehicles close to the roadway and are being treated as related to one another.
Police are asking area residents to report any suspicious vehicles or activity to Police right away.
