Over 6,500 enrollments in new water & sewer line warranty program

HAMILTON, ON – November 12, 2014 – Since the City of Hamilton partnered with Service Line Warranties of Canada (SLWC) in August 2014, many Hamilton residents have taken the opportunity to subscribe to SLWC’s warranty program. The program offers affordable protection to homeowners for exterior water and sewer lines, as well as, in-home plumbing and drainage repairs.

Hamilton homeowners have the option to enroll in this program which will provide water and sewer line repairs on their property for an affordable monthly fee. Since this program was launched in August 2014, the City is pleased to report that more than 6,500 Hamilton residents have enrolled thus far.

“This optional program through Service Line Warranties of Canada provides Hamilton residential property owners a relatively unique opportunity to access warranty protection,” said Mike Zegarac, General Manager, Finance and Corporate Services with the City of Hamilton. “We expect that other cities will follow Hamilton’s lead by considering the value of providing this optional program to their communities.”

The positive reception received from Hamilton residents will hopefully attract other municipalities across Ontario to partner with SLWC. “We are very excited by the response we’ve had in Hamilton,” said Philip Riley, Jr., President and Chief Executive Officer for Service Line Warranties of Canada. “SLWC is committed to providing exceptional customer service and peace of mind to the City of Hamilton and its residents.”
