Despite yesterday's snowfall blanketing our community, Glanbrook residents filled the arena for our annual Remembrance Day service - a powerful reminder that some commemorations transcend weather and convenience.
Standing alongside our veterans and their families, I was struck by the profound intergenerational connections on display. Young cadets stood at attention beside aging veterans. Children absorbed lessons about what sacrifice truly means. Neighbours paused their busy lives to honour those who gave everything for the freedoms we often take for granted.
These moments of collective remembrance bind our community together in ways few other occasions can. They remind us that our present comfort and security rest on the shoulders of those who served, and that this debt of gratitude must be passed down to each new generation.
Thank you to MPP Donna Skelly and MP Dan Muys for joining us in this important observance. Thank you to the dedicated organizers and volunteers who ensure this tradition continues year after year. Most importantly, thank you to the residents of Glanbrook and to our veterans and their families who showed up - your presence honours their service and teaches the next generation why we remember.
Their sacrifice secured our freedom. Our remembrance honours their legacy.
Lest we forget.
