Join us this Saturday in Gage Park for a low cost rabies vaccine clinic HAMILTON, ON – City of Hamilton Public Health Services and Animal Services are hosting a low cost rabies vaccine & microchipping clinic on Saturday, September 30 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Gage Park (1000 Main St. E). Cats and Dogs can be vaccinated against rabies and/or microchipped for $25 each, cash only on a first come, first served basis. The low cost clinic is organized by the City of Hamilton in response to raccoon rabies being established in the wild animal population in Hamilton. The City encourages pet owners to ensure their cats and dogs over three months of age are immunized against rabies, not just because it is the law, but because it protects the entire family from rabies. Additional services available for dogs and cats include cat registration, and the sale of dog licences for an additional fee. Dogs must be on a leash or in a carrier, and cats must be in a carrier. The low cost clinic was made possible with the support of four local veterinarians from VCA Canada including Eastside Pet Vet, Spencer Creek Animal Hospital and Glanbrook Veterinary Services, and registered veterinary technician volunteers.
