How to Report Road Issues in Ward 11

Potholes, sinkholes, debris on the road — Ward 11 residents have several ways to report road maintenance concerns to the City of Hamilton quickly and easily. Here's what you need to know.
Potholes, Sinkholes & Road Cuts
A pothole is a defect caused by pavement fatigue, poor sub-surface support, or moisture penetration. A sinkhole is a natural surface depression — deeper and often larger than a pothole, ranging from less than a metre to several hundred metres wide. A road cut is the clean, square-edged opening you'll see where water, sewer, or utility work is underway.
To report any of these, use the online reporting tool, call 905-546-2489 or email pothole@hamilton.ca. When you report, have the location of the hole and a brief description of what it looks like ready.
For issues on Provincial routes, contact the Ministry of Transportation Ontario at 1-866-636-0663.
Street Sweeping & Dust on Roads
The City cleans streets on a seasonal basis. If there's active construction nearby, dust or mud buildup on your road is common. Once you report it, the City will address your street on its next scheduled pass in your area. Report online or call 905-546-2489.
Trees or Debris on the Road
If a branch or tree falls from a tree on private property, the property owner is responsible for removal and any associated damages. Where possible, residents are asked to bundle branch debris into four-foot bundles for pickup on their regular garbage day.
To report a fallen tree on City or private property, or a tree or branch blocking a roadway or sidewalk, call 905-546-2489 or use the City's online reporting tool at hamilton.ca.
