How to Report a Problem in Ward 11: Your Complete Guide

The City of Hamilton makes it easy to report a wide range of neighbourhood issues online, by phone, or by email. Whether you're spotting a pothole, illegal dumping, or a traffic light that's on the fritz, here's everything you need to know.


One Portal, Many Issues


The City's online reporting portal at services.my.hamilton.ca/reportaproblem is your one-stop destination for reporting most neighbourhood concerns. You can also reach the City's Customer Contact Centre by phone at 905-546-2489 (CITY). For police, fire, or medical emergencies, always call 911.


Dead Animal on Public Property

Report a dead animal on a public road or accessible public property th

rough the online portal or by calling 905-546-2489. Note that if the animal is on private property, a removal fee may apply — contact Animal Services at 905-574-3433 for details.


Potholes, Sinkholes & Road Cuts

Report road surface defects online, call 905-546-2489, or email pothole@hamilton.ca. Have the location and a brief description ready. For issues on Provincial routes, contact MTO at 1-866-636-0663.


Tree Issues

Report fallen trees or branches blocking roads or sidewalks, or concerns about City trees, through the portal or by calling 905-546-2489. Note that debris from trees on private property is the responsibility of the property owner.


Vacant Property

To report a property that appears vacant, abandoned, or poses a safety concern, use the online portal or call 905-546-2489.


Dumped Garbage & Illegal Dumping

Illegal dumping — the improper disposal of material in non-designated public areas — can be reported online or by calling 905-546-2489. Dumping household waste in or around public litter bins is also illegal and reportable.


Graffiti

The City is committed to removing illegal graffiti from public property within 72 hours of a report. Report graffiti through the online portal or call 905-546-2489. For graffiti on private property, owners are responsible for removal under Hamilton's Yard Maintenance By-law.


Illegal Parking

For parking-related enforcement, call 905-546-2489. For urgent situations outside regular business hours, by-law officers can be dispatched by calling the same number.


Litter or Debris

Help keep Ward 11 clean by reporting litter or debris through the portal or by calling 905-546-2489.


Missed Snow or Ice Clearing

If your sidewalk or road hasn't been cleared after a snow event, report it through the portal or call 905-546-2489.


Traffic Signs or Light Issues Report damaged, missing, or malfunctioning traffic signs or lights through the portal or by calling 905-546-2489.
