Grids 2 and Municipal Comprehensive Review Public Meetings Information

The City of Hamilton is completing a Municipal Comprehensive Review (MCR) to update the Urban and Rural Hamilton Official Plans to conform with Provincial planning documents and to implement City Council’s direction for the “No Urban Boundary Expansion” growth scenario. The City of Hamilton will be holding both a statutory Open House and Public Meeting, pursuant to subsection 17.5 and 17.6 of the Planning Act R.S.O. 1990, as amended.

Open House An Open House is scheduled for Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at 6 pm. The Open House will be held virtually. The purpose of the Open House is to present the final draft Urban and Rural Hamilton Official Plan Amendments and provide the public an opportunity to ask questions to Planning Division staff. Registration is required. Register your attendance

Public Meeting A Public Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at 9:30 am and will be held virtually as part of a meeting of the City’s Planning Committee. The purpose of the Public Meeting is to present the final draft Official Plan Amendments for the MCR to Planning Committee for approval and to give an opportunity for the public to provide input. Following the Public Meeting and ratification by Council, the Council-adopted Official Plan Amendments for Phase 1 of the MCR will be forwarded to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing for final approval.
