We are a small skating club that is run entirely by volunteers. We run a Skate Canada CanSkate “learn to skate program” for children and require volunteers on and off the ice.
On ice volunteers are essential to the program. They teach PreCan skaters ages 3-5 years old to stand up and start moving around on their own, building their confidence and skills. CanSkaters are 6 years and up and a volunteer would be responsible to teach them skating circuits to develop their skills. Volunteers must be able to skate and have their own skates. Hours are Monday 5:45pm – 6:45pm and Fridays 6:30pm – 7:30pm.
Office ice volunteers would play music for the figure skaters and coaches. Other jobs may include supervising ice entrances, handing out flyers, pulling out and putting away bins of toys for CanSkate. Hours available are Monday 4:45 0 8pm, Wednesday 4:30pm – 7pm and Friday 4:45pm – 7:30pm.
Earn your high school volunteer hours, on and/or off the ice.
