Free Curbside Bulk Item Pickup Service

Did you know you can have large household items picked up from your curb-for free-by the City of Hamilton’s Waste Management Division? This convenient service helps prevent illegal dumping, especially in rural areas, and keeps our community looking its best.

Who can use this service?

• Any residential property in Hamilton with curbside waste collection (single-family homes with up to 5 units).

How does it work?

• Call 905-546-2489 (CITY) at least one week before your regular collection day to book a pickup.

• You can schedule up to four large items per booking.

• Place your items at the curb by 7am on your scheduled collection day.

What can you put out?

• Furniture (up to 200 lbs each)

• Mattresses and box springs (must be wrapped and sealed in plastic)

• Carpeting (rolled and tied, max 4 ft)

• Bed frames, hot tubs (cut down), mirrors (sealed), toilets (tank removed), and more

Important tips:

• Each item must be under 90 kg (200 lbs) and no longer than 1.2 m (4 ft)

• Mattresses and box springs must be wrapped in plastic-unwrapped items will not be collected

• Notify the City if your items have bed bugs or biohazardous materials
