Fall Community Compost Giveaway event scheduled for October 9, 2021

In a typical year, the City of Hamilton hosts several Community Compost Giveaway Events in the Spring and Fall in appreciation of residents participating in the City’s Leaf and Yard Waste Program. Due to Covid-19, the Spring 2021 Event was cancelled. The City is looking forward to providing compost to residents in October

2021 Fall Compost Giveaway Event The fall Event will be held on Saturday October 9th, 2021 at Turner Park, 344 Rymal Road E. on Hamilton mountain, from 7:00 am to 11:00 am while quantities last. This location has enough space to ensure that all residents and staff will be physically distanced by a minimum of two metres. As in other years, compost is for residents only and not available for commercial businesses. Two people per vehicle will be allowed at the pile of compost at any one time and will have 15 minutes to load. Residents are required to provide their own shovels and containers.

Donations At previous Events, residents were encouraged to donate to United Way or Food Share. Unfortunately, in order to keep physically distanced, donations will not be accepted at this years’ Event.
