Councillor Mark Tadeson claimed first place at the annual South Wentworth Plowing Match held on Friday, October 18, 2025, in Ancaster.

The event, organized by the South Wentworth Plowman's Association, brought together local leaders and community members for a day of friendly competition and celebration of Hamilton's agricultural traditions. After the judges reviewed all entries, Councillor Tadeson's plot was awarded top honours.

"It was wonderful to spend the day in rural Ancaster and participate in this community tradition," said Councillor Tadeson. "Events like the South Wentworth Plowing Match are important reminders of our city's agricultural roots and the vibrant rural communities that contribute so much to Hamilton's character."

The Councillor extended his thanks to the South Wentworth Plowman's Association for hosting the event and to all participants (Including fellow rural Councillor's and MP Dan Muys) for their camaraderie and sportsmanship.

The South Wentworth Plowing Match has been a beloved tradition, bringing together residents to celebrate rural heritage and agricultural skills. The event provides an opportunity for community members and local representatives to connect in an informal setting while honouring the region's farming history.
