Construction to resume on Rymal Rd

On Tuesday, February 17th, Hamilton’s Public Works Department will resume work on Rymal Road East between Dartnall Road to 75m west of Trinity church Rd.  The two-year project began in September 2014 and involves the widening of the road to accommodate growth in this area.

This phase of work includes the installation of a storm sewer along Glover Road heading onto Rymal Road, concrete box culverts and new catch basins.  In a final stage of the project, the road will be widened to five lanes including new sidewalks, signal improvements, and street lighting.

During this work, only northbound traffic will be permitted to travel along Glover Road.  School bus service will be maintained as well as local residential access.  Lane restrictions will be required on Rymal Road so motorists should expect major delays in the area.  HSR buses may also experience delays.  The entire project is expected to be completed by late November 2015, with top-course asphalt being laid in June 2016.
