City of Hamilton Launches New Job Posting Website Following Cybersecurity Incident

The City of Hamilton is pleased to announce the resumption of job postings and online applications through a new, secure Careers platform.

Following the cybersecurity incident in February, the previous job posting website was rendered non-operational. The new platform has been thoroughly vetted for security, privacy, and reliability, ensuring a safe environment for candidates and the City to resume hiring activities.

Priority will be given to filling essential front-line positions, critical roles, and student opportunities. Candidates are encouraged to review the following information regarding the application process:

  1. Previously Submitted Applications: If you applied for a job the week before the incident, your resume may not have been reviewed by Human Resources. Please keep an eye on our job opportunities in the coming weeks and consider reapplying for positions of interest.

  2. Applications Past the Screening Stage: For job competitions that progressed beyond the screening stage, resumes sent to hiring managers for review before the incident have been retained by Human Resources. These recruitments will continue up to the offer stage.

  3. Summer Student Recruitment: Job offers have been extended to General Labourer summer students, as Human Resources was able to retrieve candidate applications and information from the system before the incident. Other summer student recruitments and job postings affected by the incident will be reposted, or their closing dates will be extended.

  4. Pending Applications: Candidates who applied for positions and have not heard from Human Resources are encouraged to reapply for any postings they are interested in to ensure their candidacy is considered.

  5. Written Job Offers: All written job offers made before the cybersecurity incident will be honored.

New career opportunities are posted weekly on Thursdays.
