There are a number of amazing activities and events happening throughout the ward this Canada Day.
Canada Day Events in Ward 11:
Party in the Park Celebrating Canada’s 150: Party in the park will be held on Saturday July 1st, 2017 from 11am – 11pm at the Binbrook Conservation Area. There will be bouncy castles, food trucks, live music, and a Mom to Mom Sale which will be running from 11am – 3pm. Famee Furlane Canada 150 Party: The Famee Furlane is hosting their 3rd annual Canada Day event this upcoming July 1st. The fun starts at 12pm and will feature bouncy castles, music, games, a beer garden, vendors and food on site. There will also be a professional fireworks display starting at 9:30pm. Admission is free and The Famee Furlane is located at 3457 Hendershot Road. A shuttle bus will be running every twenty minutes from the Frescho plaza in Binbrook to transport people to the event.
Citizenship Ceremonies: To celebrate Canada Day 2017 The Government of Canada is holding 54 special Citizenship ceremonies across the country. Two of them are happening in Ward 11. The first ceremony will be held on July 1 at 11am at the Dofasco Rec & Learning Centre, 388 First Road East Stoney Creek. The second will be held also on July 1st, at 3pm at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum. Both events are open to the public.
Pancake Breakfasts The Winona Seniors are hosting a free sausage and pancake breakfast on Saturday July 1 to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday and the clubs 35th anniversary. The event is being held at the Winona Seniors Club 1239 Hwy 8, Stoney Creek and will run from 10am – 1pm. All are welcome.
Canada Day BBQ at LakePointe Park Knighton Real Estate is also hosting a Canada Day Celebration happening at Lakepointe Park on Fifty Road in Stoney Creek on Saturday July 1 from 5:30pm to 9:30pm. The event will feature face painting, food, inflatables, a firetruck, a photo booth, live music and fireworks!
