The Binbrook Scouts will be holding a food & bottle drive next Monday May 18 (Victoria Day) & Tuesday May 19 in support of the Glanbrook food bank and also a food bank in the town of Ugunja, Kenya.
They will be out on Monday between 1-5pm for curbside pick up in the core of Binbrook. On Tuesday from 9-11am or 6-8pm safe, self – service drop-off of bottles is being taken at the Binbrook Fairgrounds, building #3.
If you live in the Binbrook Village please make a sign or have something brightly coloured on your front door or railing on Monday to grab volunteers attention and let them know to stop at your home for donations.
If you wish to donate financially email money transfers can also be made to info@1stBinbrook.org. Please make note in your transfer as to where you would like to see the donation used (local food bank, town of Ugunja, Kenya or both!) Ugunja, Kenya has a special place in the hearts of our Binbrook Scouts and after hearing stories of how the COVID-19 crisis has devastated the community they wanted to step up and help. The scouts have put a go fund me in place to assist in these efforts. You can find the Go Fund Me page which also includes more information about their connection to this town and its people at the following link: https://www.gofundme.com/f/ugunja-kenya-stand-proud
