The City of Hamilton has confirmed that the urbanisation work along Binbrook Road, from Binbrook proper to Fletcher Road, is scheduled to be fully completed, with the road reopening by September 1, 2025. This project is key to supporting Binbrook’s rapid growth and ensuring the infrastructure keeps pace.

What’s Included in the Project

  • Full reconstruction of the roadway to modern standards

  • New storm sewer system built for today and tomorrow

  • Upgraded sanitary sewers to support development

  • Refreshed watermain systems for reliable service for decades

  • Smooth, safer road surfaces and better traffic flow

Enhancing Connectivity & Active Transportation

The project also includes a new multi-use path, modern lighting, and sidewalks, making walking, cycling, and rolling safer and easier at any hour.

“This isn’t just road construction, it’s about building complete streets that serve everyone,” says Councillor Mark Tadeson. “The multi-use path, lighting, and sidewalks show we’re serious about active transportation alongside essential water and sewer work. Sticking to the September 1 timeline gives families certainty as the school year approaches.”
