Binbrook residents may have seen a notice from the Binbrook Canada Post Office regarding a delay in service due to a situation related to COVID-19. They have advised that mail and parcels will not be delivered by the facility and regular mail services will resume as soon as possible pending the direction of public health officials.
For those concerned about any possible exposure, please know that during case investigations, Public health performs a risk assessment of all exposures and will reach anyone identified as a contact. Unless advised by Public Health there is no need for you to self-isolate. You can find more information at www.hamilton.ca/coronavirus.
Note that COVID-19 is spread mainly from person-to-person via respiratory droplets when an infected person coughs or sneezes. Symptoms include a fever, cough, and shortness of breath, and may include headache, tiredness, chills, body aches, and diarrhea. Symptoms can take up to 14 days to appear. Most cases of COVID-19 will have mild illness, not require hospitalization and recover on their own.
If you are concerned that you have been exposed or feel a need to be assessed use the Ministry of Health’s self-assessment tool and if you meet the criteria to be tested, contact your health care provider, Telehealth at 1-866-797-0000 or Public Health at 905-974-9848.
If you don’t meet the criteria, please stay home, stay hydrated, rest and monitor your symptoms. If your symptoms worsen, contact your health care provider
