The City of Hamilton has initiated a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) for the Airport Employment Growth District (AEGD) East-West Arterial Road Network in the Ancaster area. The first of three Public Information Centres is coming up later this month.
About the Study
This Schedule "C" EA study will examine road network improvements to support transportation needs identified through the AEGD Transportation Master Plan Update (2024). The study covers four key elements:
Widening Book Road East from Highway 6 to Smith Road
Extending Dickenson Road West from Glancaster Road to Smith Road
Providing a new arterial road connection from Southcote Road and Book Road to Glancaster Road
Implementing a cul-de-sac on the eastern portion of Book Road East
Come to PIC #1
The first PIC is an open-house drop-in session. No formal presentation — project materials will be on display and members of the project team will be available to answer questions and discuss the study.
The focus of this first session is gathering community input on the problems and opportunities being addressed, existing conditions in the study area, and the alternative road alignments under consideration.
