Accessible Portable Washrooms Coming to Ward 11 Parks

Ward 11 has great parks - playgrounds, spray pads, sports fields, walking paths - but many locations don't have permanent washroom facilities. For families with young children, seniors, and visitors spending an afternoon outside, that's a real gap.
This summer, I'm addressing that directly.
What's Being Installed
Accessible portable washroom units will be in place at two Ward 11 locations for the summer season, running approximately May through September:
Fairgrounds Community Park
Binbrook Mount Hope Park
Both units will be accessible and barrier-free.
How It's Being Funded
This initiative is being funded through Ward 11 reserve accounts - specifically the Cell Tower Reserve and Airport Revenue Reserve. That means it's being delivered without any draw on the broader City budget or impact on the tax levy.
Ward 11 reserves exist to serve Ward 11 residents. This is exactly what they're for.
Why It Matters
Better washroom access means more families can spend a full afternoon at the park. It means people don't have to cut visits short. It means events and gatherings in these spaces are more viable for everyone. Small improvement - real difference.
