BACKGROUND Expanding Hamilton’s Urban Boundary has been a contentious issue. In the past, Provincial Policy allowed municipal councils to determine whether an urban boundary expansion (UBE) was warranted or needed to meet provincially set population targets. The report provides a monthly snapshot of calls for service, collisions and reported crime indicators in our community. The report also com Reminder: Elfrida Secondary Plan Public Meeting – August 25 The Planning Committee public meeting for the proposed Elfrida Secondary Plan will take place on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, beginning at 9:30 a.m. The application, submitted by Bousfields Inc. on behalf of Elfrida Community Builders Group Inc., proposes an Official Plan Amendment to establish a Secondary Plan for the Elfrida expansion lands in Stoney Creek and Glanbrook. A Secondary Plan is a long-range blueprint for how a community should develop. The report provides a snapshot of crime indicators, property crime, violent crime, collisions and calls for service recorded in the ward during the month. Monthly figures can vary for many reasons, including individual incidents, reporting patterns, police activity and seasonal conditions. The meeting begins at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 25, at Hamilton City Hall, Council Chambers, 2nd Floor, 71 Main Street West.
