The report provides a snapshot of crime indicators, property crime, violent crime, collisions and calls for service recorded in the ward during the month. It also includes year-to-date totals and comparisons with five-year monthly averages. Monthly figures can vary for many reasons, including individual incidents, reporting patterns, police activity and seasonal conditions. A single month shou August 25 Public Meeting: Elfrida Developer-Initiated Secondary Plan August 25: Elfrida Secondary Plan Public Meeting Planning Committee will hold a public meeting about the proposed Official Plan Amendment to establish a Secondary Plan for the Elfrida expansion lands in Stoney Creek and Glanbrook, located in Wards 9 and 11. The meeting begins at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 25, at Hamilton City Hall, Council Chambers, 2nd Floor, 71 Main Street West. The meeting will be held in a hybrid format, allowing residents to attend in person or partici Request a Free Street Tree or Report a Tree Concern Information on street-tree requests, maintenance and sightline concerns Hamilton’s Planting Our Future program allows residents to request a free street tree. To request a tree, visit hamilton.ca/trees or call 905-546-CITY (2489). If a City-owned tree requires maintenance, or if branches or overgrowth are obstructing a road, sidewalk, traffic sign or sightline, report the location to the City or email our office. Clear sightlines mat New online planning, permitting, licensing and by-law system Hamilton’s new Planning, Permitting, Licensing and By-law System is now available through my.hamilton.ca. Residents, businesses and industry can use the system to submit applications, make payments, track progress and receive updates. The system is being introduced in phases, starting with core features and expanding over time. Step-by-step guides, tutorials and online resources are available at hamilton.ca/pplb. Free sport-equipment stations in Ward 11 parks The City is installing free Equip Sport equipment-rental stations in parks across Hamilton. In Ward 11, stations are available at Kopperfield Park, Laidman Park and Summerlea West Park. Residents can use the free Equip Sport app to borrow soccer balls, basketballs, volleyballs, footballs and frisbees for use in City parks. The stations are installed, maintained and operated at no cost to the City or residents, with financial support from Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities. The New bus shelter planned near Glovers Road You may notice a new concrete platform near Glovers Road. Councillor Tadeson's office is happy to announce the long waited bus shelter we have been advocating for is soon to be installed! Staff have confirmed it is for a new bus shelter on Twenty Road East, just west of the intersection with Glovers Road. The concrete must cure for at least two weeks before the shelter can be installed. Staff were targeting the first week of August for installation and stop activation.
