The contract has been awarded for and construction is scheduled to begin May 7th for the following: the supply and installation of the spray pad, new playground equipment, asphalt walkways and seating within these areas. This phase of the project is anticipated to be completed by June 29th, 2018 weather permitting.

The project also includes a shade structure, multi-use court, tennis court, exercise stations, asphalt walkway, seating and plantings. These works are to be completed by August 17th, 2018 weather permitting.

This is a 1.2 million dollar outdoor project, this amount includes the park master-plan, grading and removal of the pavilion. This project, coupled with the upgrades to the Mount Hope Hall, which was in the approx value of 1.2 million totals almost 2.5 million dollars in upgrades to the Mount Hope Community Park & Hall.

The quonset hut replacement is included in the next phase of this park.

It’s taken a while to get to this stage and I would like to thank the community for their patience. As I have mentioned before the splash pad delay was unavoidable if we wanted to receive the additional two million in upgrades to the park & hall.
